A home services CRM should reflect the real journey from enquiry to completed job. A generic “lead / opportunity / customer” funnel is often too vague to improve response and booking performance.
Use practical stages
- new enquiry;
- qualified / service-area fit;
- quote or appointment required;
- quote sent / appointment scheduled;
- booked;
- completed;
- follow-up / review / rebooking;
- lost / no response.
Automate administration, not technical judgement
Useful automation includes enquiry acknowledgement, missed-call follow-up, appointment reminders, overdue quote prompts and review requests. Safety advice, diagnosis, technical decisions and final pricing should remain with the appropriate trained people and systems.
Record why work is lost
Track reasons such as outside service area, wrong service, price, availability, customer no-response, competitor, job size or timing. This lets marketing reduce unsuitable demand.
Measure the full funnel
Track response time, qualification rate, booking rate, completed-job rate, customer acquisition cost and revenue or gross profit by source.
