An education website should help a prospective learner answer one question quickly: “Is this programme right for me, and what do I do next?” When that journey is unclear, marketing traffic is wasted.
1. Incomplete course information
Make delivery mode, location, dates, duration, fees, entry requirements and the resulting qualification or outcome clear and accurate. Do not force users to enquire for basic decision information.
2. Weak mobile application journeys
Long forms, awkward uploads and poor mobile layouts can lose otherwise suitable applicants. Ask only for information needed at that stage and explain what happens after submission.
3. Generic programme pages
Thin pages that repeat the same template across many courses make it difficult for learners and search engines to understand the differences between programmes.
4. Unsupported trust claims
Accreditation, approval, employment outcomes and progression claims should reflect evidence and the exact programme concerned. Avoid broad statements that imply more than the provider can substantiate.
5. No link between marketing and enrolment
Track the path from source to qualified enquiry, application and enrolment. A course page with modest traffic but strong enrolment progression may be more valuable than a high-traffic article.
