Website Mistakes Costing Healthcare Enquiries: What to Fix

The website problems that quietly cost healthcare providers enquiries and bookings, from unclear services and weak trust to poor mobile UX, forms and follow-up.

A healthcare website can look modern and still make it difficult for patients to understand services, verify the provider or take the next step. The most damaging problems are usually clarity, trust, accessibility and conversion problems.

1. Services and patient fit are unclear

Service pages should explain what the provider offers, who the service is intended for, where it is available and what happens after an enquiry. Generic descriptions create uncertainty.

2. Clinician and provider trust is hidden

  • Named clinicians are difficult to find.
  • Relevant credentials or provider information is unclear.
  • Locations and contact details are buried.
  • Claims or testimonials cannot be substantiated.

3. Mobile and accessibility problems block patients

Test navigation, forms, telephone links, booking tools, text size, contrast and interaction on real devices. A technically responsive layout is not enough if the journey is difficult to use.

4. Booking and contact routes are vague

Make the next step explicit and appropriate to the service: request an appointment, call the clinic, submit an enquiry or use the approved booking route.

5. Forms collect too much too early

Collect only the information needed for the initial purpose. Avoid asking for unnecessary sensitive information in a marketing enquiry form.

6. Local information is weak

For location-based care, make premises, service availability and access information clear. Avoid mass-created location pages that imply services or premises that are not genuinely available.

7. Marketing claims create risk

Remove fabricated outcomes, unsupported success rates and vague authority claims. Healthcare marketing should be accurate, supportable and appropriately reviewed.

8. Enquiries are not tracked to bookings

Track calls, forms and booking requests through to appropriate outcomes where lawful and practical. Otherwise the organisation cannot tell which pages and channels are useful.

9. Follow-up ownership is unclear

Define who owns each enquiry, how quickly it should be reviewed and when escalation is required.
