Manufacturing websites often lose opportunities before sales ever sees them. The problem is usually not a missing animation or outdated colour palette. It is that buyers cannot quickly confirm whether the supplier can meet the requirement.
1. Vague capability pages
Pages that say “high-quality manufacturing solutions” without processes, materials, tolerances, capacity, certifications or applications force buyers to guess. Make technical fit obvious.
2. Weak proof
Use evidence that can be verified: equipment, accreditations, sectors served, genuine project examples and technical documentation. Remove anonymous success stories and unsupported performance claims.
3. Friction in the RFQ journey
- forms that ask too little or far too much;
- no clear way to upload drawings or specifications;
- unclear response expectations;
- poor mobile behaviour;
- generic contact pages with no technical routing.
4. Poor information architecture
Processes, products, materials and sectors should be easy to navigate and internally linked. Buyers should not need to search the entire site to work out whether you serve their use case.
5. No sales attribution
Connect forms, calls and RFQs to CRM stages so marketing can be evaluated on qualified enquiries, quotes and won work rather than traffic alone.
